Back To School, Don't Pass That School Bus!!!

Time flies when you are raising kids. I don't think, for parents, there has ever been a more true statement. My son just turned ten years old yesterday and I can't believe how much it feels like just yesterday we were at the hospital celebrating his arrival.

Through all the sleepless nights, early mornings, diapers, bottles, tummy aches, and school mornings one thing is certain. Kids grow like wildfire and it can't be stopped. I have two amazing  twenty something daughters and an equally amazing ten year old little boy. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

This school season and every school season, please remember to stop for school buses dropping off children. Don't pass them. When you are in the opposite lane, watch for the stop sign on the side of the bus and stop! It is the law! Save the life of a child and pass on the message.

Breakfast In Bed

My son made me breakfast in bed! Peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He did a great job and even wrote "for mom" on the package so I would know it was mine.

It is the little things like this that are actually the big things. I love parenting!! Kids have a beautiful innocents about them. It is so rewarding to see them grow up as fine young men and women. Every tough, sad, happy, emotional, challenging moment with them is worth it.

Sick of Trump and Clinton? Watch the Olympics for a while!!

Escaping the mud slinging of the political mess of Clinton and Trump by burying myself in the joy and hope of the 2016 Rio Olympics!
What a beautiful celebration of the human spirit! I love the Olympics, mainly because I am a sports fiend, but also because in spite of all of the things that separate us in this world, we are all from the human race and this is our time to come together to celebrate it. Let me take this time to thank all of those from around the world that view my blog. You are all amazing! Peace and love!! The Olympics will remind you that we can come together as a country and as the human race!

An Easy Snack Using Unconventional Ingredients

Being a single mom, sometimes the budget is so tight it squeaks, so I have to come up with new ways to use the foods that I have at home. Jumping into the car and heading to Walmart is not always possible, but I can shop in my own cupboards. Here is an affordable easy snack using an unconventional ingredient. Best of all, it requires no cooking and my son likes it!

Cheesy Herb Crackers

1 full package Oyster Crackers
5-6 tablespoons Olive Oil
1 Seasoning Packet from PASTA RONI (Any Flavor)
Mrs Dash Table Blend seasoning to taste

In a bowl, add Olive Oil. Pour Oyster Crackers over Olive Oil and mix with hands or spoon till all the crackers are coated lightly with oil. Add Seasoning Packet and stir till the powder coats the crackers. Sprinkle in Mrs Dash to taste. Enjoy!!

For different flavors, I have used the seasoning packets from Hamburger Helper, Hidden Valley Ranch, Kraft Mac and Cheese, and Suddenly Salad as well.
