Coffee Chat: Recovering from surgery!

After a 9 week female health issue and a Hysterectomy, I am happy to say that I am recovering nicely from surgery.

It is, however, a maddeningly slow process even though the surgery was robotic. I do recommend the Da Vinci MIP Hysterectomy girls if you have the option. Takes far less recovery time. I was in the hospital for one night and out at noon the next day.

I am very sorry for the lapse in blog posts but it was necessary to my recovery. But now I am back at it so there are more posts to come. Thank you for your patience!

Some Of My All Time Favorite Products

Everyone has some favorite products that they use frequently and buy repeatedly. If you are like me though you are always searching for the right product that actually gets the job done. Here are a few products that have worked for me and are my "Go To's".

  1. Jergens Ultra Healing - This is a moisturizer made for extra dry skin that contains Vitamins C, E, & B5. For the longest time I was looking for a good moisturizer for my legs, heals, and feet because I hate the dry ashy look. My daughter introduced me to this formula and I have loved it ever since. It has improved the look of my skin dramatically.
  2. CoverGirl TruBlend Liquid Makeup in Natural Ivory - I love this stuff so much I can't even tell ya. Used to be that the only foundations that I could find that matched my skin tone wouldn't lay on my skin correctly. Made me crazy. Even with a proper moisturizer and a primer I couldn't find one that would stay on my skin and give me good flawless coverage without looking cakey or smearing but not setting. I was ecstatic to find this product. It goes on easy and doesn't take a ton of product to achieve the look I want.
  3. CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in the shade 215 -  This product feels so good on my lips and looks natural. It is my favorite lip color by far and the one that I nearly always reach for. I'm no beauty guru and I don't wear a ton of make up because I like the "natural as possible" look. That being said, this balm is the perfect combination of sheer, moisturizing, and   color for me.
  4.  Coast To Coast Skin Radiance Aqua Mist with Quandong & Chamomile - I hate that dry rough scaly look on my face. I found that a great way to keep it moisturized is by using this mist after I moisturize and after I have been anywhere that dries out my skin. Nothing feels better than a cool refreshing spritz when your skin is tired and dried out. It brightens and refreshes my face while keeping it moisturized.
Now keep in mind that I am no pro in reviews or applying makeup. I get nothing from any of these companies for the review. I'm just an average girl on the search for products that work for me. Give these a shot and see if they work for you!

Coffee Chat: The "Girly" Corner!

YAY! I finally have a room to call my own!! Isn't it sad that I am nearly 46 years old and this is the first time I have had my own room? Ever! Yes, it is a small accomplishment, but look how long it took me.

So now that I have my own room I have added some somewhat "Girly" aspects to it.

This one you have seen. It was a gift from my boyfriend for Valentines Day.

This was a DIY project to cover up and unsightly bulletin board.

This is yet another DIY project that is displayed over my bed to add a pop of color.

I finally have a space to display things that a 9 year old is not allowed to touch! Girly things!!

A place for collectibles, keepsakes, and even some live growing plants.

I have a place for my accessories, a shelf for my grandmother's antique musical jewelry case, and  a place for the keepsake heart necklace that is dedicated to my mother who passed away in 2012. I really miss her.

There seems to be a slight Parisian theme going on here.

And finally, I have a calm peaceful place to work or browse the net for fascinating blogs or information!

Everyone deserves their own space. If you get the chance, make your own space today. Make a place that you can go to relax filled with things that you love that make you happy. I can't believe how much of a difference it has made in my attitude and how much I actually like being at home. See what you can do with your own space in your home!

Coffee Chat: Scarves!! The one accessory that I won't be without.

To me, there are few things more comfy feeling than a scarf around my neck. Weird, I know. But during the cooler months when the house feels drafty and the wind outside is howling, you will often see me snuggling up in one of my favorites. Even in the house, though they are meant to be accessories, I enjoy the fact that my neck and upper back are covered and the cool air can't get to them. Being cold is not even remotely enjoyable for me. Call me a wimp, but it seems to take forever for me to get warm again after catching a chill. The last three days, though it hasn't been really cold but still breezy, they have come in handy. Recently I acquired a small collection from my daughter, when she moved, that I was more than happy to add to my own collection.

This beautiful green scarf is a gift from my oldest daughter for Mother's Day. Stunning!!

I have scarves for every season.
Hey look, it is me not catching a chill!

Love the vibrant colors!

Of course, there are other advantages to wearing a scarf other than warmth. They can cover or make up for a low cut blouse or shirt, a stain or flaw on a shirt, or a blemish on the skin of your neck. Also, a nice scarf can be worn over the hair to keep it in place during a windy day.We all know how that can go, don't we girls?  Yes, they are a beautiful accessory for color and style.  Scarves are the one accessory that I need in my wardrobe!
